International Biomass Conference Malaysia (IBCM) is an international annual event that congregates key industry players, technology & solution providers, scientists and leading biomass stakeholders to share insights, explore business opportunities and partnership models to move the agenda of the biomass industry forward. IBCM 2017 was successfully held on 19th and 20th October 2017 at Borneo Convention Centre Kuching, Sarawak, with around 1,000 participants. With the theme of ‘Biomass Industry Revolution 4.0: Innovation-led Bio-based Economy’, the conference aims to provide a platform to connect the perspectives of regional and global biomass communities, discussing the key market issues, exchanging information, and learning the latest market trends.
Key stakeholders across a wide spectrum have been invited as speakers and panellists, involving not only prominent industrial players along the value chain, but also major government agencies from the region, as well as local and international research institutions.
The biomass industry has been identified as one of the key industry for the future of Sarawak with target of becoming the Premier Bio-hub for this region. With the development of the Sarawak Biomass Industry Development Plan (SBIDP) that was launched last year, Sarawak has embarked on a clear strategy to spur and expedite the growth of this industry in Malaysia as new wealth creation and pillar for sustainable economic growth for Sarawak and Malaysia.
